 Word of God Catholic School in Swissvale, Pennsylvania was established in 1909 as St. Anselm Catholic School. Since then, it has established a record of academic excellence for students in preschool through eighth grade in courses such as math, reading, science, English, music, art, Spanish, sign language, computers and much more. Our mission has always been to guide children to live as Jesus did, which includes faith awareness and service to others along with academic excellence. A wide variety of educational, religious and social programs are available to our students and their families. Our extracurricular offerings include robotics club, math olympics, athletics, fine arts club, stage and musical performances and annual science and art fairs. Word of God welcomes children of all faiths and abilities, creating a uniquely diverse and inclusive environment for all students. Ours is one of only six Catholic elementary schools in the Pittsburgh area to educate students with special needs through the St. Anthony's program. We also provide classes and activities to students from the Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf, creating a unique and inclusive environment for all students.
